2017 has brought some changes!
Getting the Production Greenhouse built and getting The Farm in Burleson operating has taken much of our time and energy the first half of this year. But we are excited about the progress we have made. We are now selling lettuces and fresh greens weekly at two Farmers Markets — Grand Prairie and Fresh Local Market-Tyler Street in Oak Cliff, Dallas. We will add additional markets in the near future as our production capability increases.
First Saturday Gatherings have become First Sundays!
We are continuing the First Gatherings that many of you are familiar with through our Meetup Group. But there have been some changes in format. We will continue to host Gatherings at The Farm in Burleson, and welcome anyone interested in learning or talking about Aquaponics to join us from 9 to 11 a.m., normally on the first Sunday of each month during Farmers Market season.
We ask that you register through our DFW Aquaponics Meetup group. Also, because of the continuing time commitment, we have begun charging a nominal fee for first-time visitors. We encourage anyone interested in Aquaponics to come — to learn and to share ideas. We help and support one another, and you’ll find an interesting and helpful community waiting to learn about your projects, whether you’re just beginning your aquaponics farming journey or your a seasoned pro.
Scheduled dates through the end of 2017 are:
Sunday, September 3
Sunday, October 1
Sunday, November 12, and
Sunday, December 3
We look forward to seeing established ‘ponners and to meeting new friends
Plans for 2018
