Plans for 2018
First Saturday Gatherings Will Remain First Sundays!
Because we have committed to Saturday Farmers Markets, and will continue to expand our participation in 2018, DFW Aquaponics Farms has decided to keep The Gatherings scheduled for First Sundays on each month. If there is a holiday conflict, we will reschedule and provide ample notice of the date change.
Please register through Meetup, just so we know who plans to come. Thanks!
We welcome anyone interested in learning or talking about Aquaponics to join us between 9 a.m. and 12 noon at The Farm in Burleson — 7512 FM 2738. It’s very informal, and there is no charge.
We are developing a full roster of classes, and some other exciting projects for 2018, and we hope to announce them in the not-too-distant future.
Intro to Aquaponics — Sunday, February 18 — 1 to 2:30 p.m. — $45.00
This basic introductory class will give the novice “Ponner” an overview of the principles of Aquaponic growing, and basic practical knowledge that can be applied to a backyard project or a small-scale production facility.
We encourage anyone who has thought about building a DIY system or has dreams of growing produce for fun and/or profit to enroll. This is not a “hands-on” class, but the session will include a tour of the two production greenhouses at The Farm.
Taught by David Cohen, there will be ample time for Q&A. Bring a notebook and a camera, and dress appropriately for weather conditions. In case of inclement weather, you will receive notification of site change or postponement.
To enroll: Please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Payment is expected in advance, through Paypal.
Notice of Additional Classes will be announced as the schedule is finalized.
